Tech & Counsel

FAQ

Before you enrol yourself.

Short answers. If yours is about a client’s facts, do not put those facts in the contact form.

Tech & Counsel provides education only. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and nothing here creates a solicitor–client relationship.

+Who is Tech & Counsel for?

Law students, young lawyers, and early-career builders who want to work on technology matters and currently freeze when the conversation turns to stacks, APIs, Git, cookies, or testing. You do not need to write code to take the path.

+Is this legal advice?

No. Tech & Counsel is an education product. Lessons, exercises, and notes are for study. They are not advice on a live instruction, and using the site does not make anyone your solicitor.

+Does a free account create a solicitor–client relationship?

No. Creating an account lets you track lessons. It does not retain counsel, open a file, or oblige anyone to answer a legal question about your facts.

+What does it cost?

Phase 1 is free after you confirm your email. There is no subscription, no payment, and no certificate that pretends to be a professional qualification.

+How do the modules work?

The path is a sequence of modules. Each module is a set of lessons in a fixed order. Read a lesson, then mark it complete. Your dashboard shows the percentage of published lessons you have finished and a continue link.

+Do I need to be called to the bar?

No. Students, NYSC colleagues, and associates are all expected. The professional stage on your profile is descriptive. It does not unlock or lock content.

+Is the privacy material Nigeria-specific?

The curriculum is Nigeria-first. Lessons discuss the Nigeria Data Protection Act, the NDPC, and product facts you will meet in Nigerian teams, including payment APIs and cross-border hosting. They are a literacy layer, not a commentary that replaces the statute.

+How long does the path take?

Each lesson has a reading-time estimate, usually under twenty minutes. The full published path is meant to be taken steadily, not crammed. Progress is saved per lesson, so you can leave and continue.

+Can I use the exercises in a client memo?

The exercises are study tasks with invented teaching scenarios. They are not precedents. Do not paste them into a live matter. If a lesson body is still a placeholder, an editor will replace it from the admin dashboard.

+Why can’t I mark a lesson complete?

You need an account, a confirmed email, and an active profile. Disabled accounts cannot sign in or write progress. Unpublished lessons are hidden from students.

+Who reads the contact form?

Messages go to the admin inbox inside this site. Write there if you are stuck on access, a broken lesson, or a correction. Do not send confidential facts about a client.

+Will there be a certificate?

Not in this phase. Completion is a private progress record for you and, in aggregate, for an administrator. It is not a qualification, a pupillage, or a statement that you are competent to advise.
