This notice describes Tech & Counsel, an education website. It explains what this site itself collects when you read, create an account, or write to us. It is not a template for your client’s product, and it is not legal advice.

Tech & Counsel provides education only. Nothing on this site is legal advice, and nothing here creates a solicitor–client relationship.

Who operates the site

Tech & Counsel operates this education platform. To ask a question about this notice or about your account, use the contact form. Do not send confidential client material.

What we collect

Account data, if you sign up: your name, email address, and a password. The password is handled by the authentication provider and stored in hashed form. We do not ask you to send a password to us by email.

Profile data, after you confirm your email and choose to add it: phone number, a short biography, organisation or school, city, country, cohort, and professional stage. A profile photograph is not collected in this phase. A default placeholder is shown instead.

Learning data: which published lessons you have marked complete, and when.

Messages: the name, email, and text you submit on the contact form.

Technical data needed to run the site: authentication cookies, and the ordinary logs a host keeps to deliver pages and to diagnose faults. We do not run a marketing pixel in this phase.

Why

To create and protect your account, to remember your progress, to read and reply to messages about the school, and to keep the service available. We do not sell personal data. We do not use your learning record to advertise to you.

Where it is kept

Account, profile, progress, journal, and contact records are stored in a Supabase project (hosted Postgres and authentication). The application is hosted on Vercel. Those providers process data so the site can function. Their regions may be outside Nigeria. If you need the current region confirmed for a formal purpose, ask through the contact form and treat the answer as an operational fact about this school, not as advice about your own product.

How long

Account and progress data are kept while your account is active. Contact messages are kept so an administrator can read them and so we can see what was asked. If you want an account closed, write to us from the email on the account. We will disable access and delete or detach the profile where the authentication provider allows it. Backups and logs may persist for a shorter operational window.

Analytics that are not here yet

A later version of this site may use a traffic measurement tool, such as Google Analytics, to understand which lessons are read. That tool is not installed in Phase 1. If it is added, this notice and the cookie note will be updated before it runs, and a non-essential analytics cookie will not be treated as strictly necessary.

Your requests

You can see and edit the extended profile after your email is confirmed. You cannot change your own role. You can ask, via the contact form, for a copy of the account data we hold, for a correction, or for closure. We may need to confirm you control the email address before we act.

Children

The path is written for law students and early-career lawyers. It is not directed at children.

Draft prepared for Phase 1 of this website. Review it, put the operator’s legal name and contact details on it, and replace any sentence that does not match how the service is actually run.
